Enchant forest of AerrithChapter I: The Land Known as Aerrith

This day would contain the moment that changes the fate of one world forever. As though time itself was powerless to stop it, the day awakened to full bloom in almost an instant. The gentle Candoria grazers in the valley looked up to the skies as though acknowledging some energy in the wind, while the breeze beneath them delicately blew through the grass at their hooves. It was already midday and the Guardians of Aerrith were expected to return from their battle against the clan known as the Minions of the Erd–a weak clan, not capable of much resistance, and the Guardians of Aerrith were determined to keep it that way. The remaining Minions of Erd that were excited for battle were far and few between, so it was generally a short skirmish.

One might think Aerrith to not even be at war with the happy air of its people in the capital city of Senega-the city that is home to some of the most powerful among the Guardians. The youngest among those training to become Guardians, known as disciples, run through the streets throwing leaf orbs at other disciples. Any other objects thrown are not permitted by the Guardian, but the leaf orbs are permitted because they teach the young disciples the fundamentals of manipulating nature:

1) Add water to leaves

2) Combine the leaves and water using their mind’s power to summon energy into a sponge-like orb

3) Commence the attack on other future Guardians.

This leaf orb training was called a Mind-Particle Synthesis Activity by the Elders, but was known as Soggy-Leaf to the children. The only downside to Soggy-Leaf, is that only the youngest disciples may play the game. Once a disciple becomes old enough, they are expected to have already mastered Mind-Particle Synthesis and move forward to greater abilities. All of the children were quite capable of mastering such abilities, but there was one in particular who was given special attention by Mim, the highest ranking elder and former Guardian of Aerrith.

Her name was Andresha, but the young affectionately refer to her as Andretti. On this day that a great energy unsettles even the gentle grazers, Andretti is in the sacred sanctuary of the Guardians of Aerrith, receiving lectures on more of the truths from Mim. One would think Andresha belonged out in the fields that day not far from where the gentle grazers nibbled at the grasses and flowers. The grazers were known as Gorian, and Andresha spent much of her free time enjoying the feel of Aerrith’s beauty around her. But today, Mim would not let her leave early as she usually would. But poor Andresha, although she was blessed with a wonderful wit, a beautiful face, and an energetic spirit, she lacked comprehension skills. It seemed that no matter what situation she was in, whatever someone might tell her, or what consequences there might be for her or another, her oblivious nature got her into trouble. It was that oblivious look that Mim was baffled by herself, and in the great sanctuary, attempted one last time to explain to Andresha yet another complicated truth.

Hi T – Thanks for noticing – I think she is at the perfect age to still be curious and child-like but at the same time, she is a little wiser for her age. It’s that in-between that gives her a lot of her dynamic.

A quick notice: I have not introduced everyone yet, but a few of them do have mythological roots in their creation (not necessarily Greek or Roman ^_^’)

Oddly enough, the name Andretti is something I came up with on my own as a little girl. It feels like this story has been brewing in my head since forever. There are a couple of interpretations of Andretti if you search them, but her origin in name is a happy accident of imagination.

I will be posting the second chapter soon!
